Services

One contractor, from load study to energization.

Design-build delivery across EV charging, solar, and general electrical work. No handoffs between an installer, an electrician, and a service vendor. We are all three.

L2 / AC

Level 2 EV charging

Networked AC charging for workplaces, fleets, multifamily, and retail — engineered for the panel capacity you actually have, and the port count you'll actually need.

  • 208 / 240 V, single & three-phase
  • Load management & power sharing
  • OCPP-networked, hardware-agnostic
L3 / DCFC

DC fast charging

High-power sites from 50 to 350 kW: utility coordination, civil and concrete work, switchgear, and commissioning — delivered as one scope.

  • 50–350 kW dispensers & power cabinets
  • New utility services & transformers
  • NEVI-compliant site build-outs
MULTI-STATION

Multi-station installations

Whole-site build-outs where a dozen or a hundred ports have to work together. Engineered for coordinated load, shared infrastructure, and phased expansion as your fleet or tenants grow.

  • Coordinated load management
  • Shared power cabinets & distribution
  • Phased build-outs to match adoption
FLEET

Fleet & depot charging

Depot infrastructure for commercial and municipal fleets — sized to routes, dwell times, and utility tariffs. Overnight charging that finishes when the shift starts, without the demand charges that break the operating model.

  • Route & dwell-time load modeling
  • Overnight & opportunity charging
  • Tariff optimization & demand management
SOLAR

Solar

Solar has been core to Arkay since long before EV charging existed. Commercial and industrial systems — rooftop, canopy, and ground-mount — designed to work alongside the loads we now specialize in adding.

  • Rooftop, canopy & ground-mount
  • Solar-plus-storage & EV integration
  • Interconnection & incentive filings
ELECTRICAL

General electrical work

The commercial electrical work Arkay has been doing since 1998: service upgrades, panels, switchgear, tenant improvements, and the stamped drawings that get it permitted.

  • Load studies & service upgrades
  • Switchgear, panels, transformers
  • Tenant improvements & plan sets
BESS

Battery energy storage

Commercial battery energy storage systems (BESS) — sized to shave demand charges, back up critical loads, and store solar for use when the rate is highest. Designed to work alongside EV charging so utility capacity stops being the constraint.

  • Peak shaving & demand-charge management
  • Solar-plus-storage & EV integration
  • UL 9540 / NFPA 855 compliant designs
SERVICE

Maintenance & servicing

Preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repair, and replacement for EV charging equipment — including stations we didn't install. Broken chargers cost you drivers; we keep yours on.

  • Preventive service plans & SLAs
  • Station repair & replacement
  • Warranty & network support

Process

Five steps, in order. No surprises after step one.

01

Site assessment

A walkthrough, a load study, and a utility service review — then a fixed-scope proposal. You'll know cost, capacity, and constraints before anything is ordered.

02

Design & engineering

Stamped plan sets, single-line diagrams, and equipment selection. We're hardware-agnostic: the site's requirements pick the charger, not a reseller margin.

03

Permits, utility & incentives

AHJ permitting, utility applications, and rebate filings handled by us — including California state and utility incentive programs (SCE, PG&E, SDG&E, LADWP, and others).

04

Installation & commissioning

Self-performed by our EVITP-certified crews — no subcontracted labor. Energization, network activation, signage, and a complete closeout package.

05

Maintenance

Preventive service plans with response-time SLAs, diagnostics, and repair. The install is a milestone; uptime is the product.

Company

Twenty-eight years in California electrical. Solar most of that time. EV charging the last five.

Arkay was founded in 1998 as a commercial electrical contractor — switchgear, service upgrades, tenant improvements. Solar came next, and stayed core to the business through the whole California solar boom. Grid-tied commercial installations, canopies, and eventually storage.

Five years ago we added EV charging, and it's now the fastest-growing part of the practice — but built on the same foundation as everything before it: our own crews, stamped drawings, clean conduit runs, and a closeout binder your facilities team will actually use. The scope changed. The standard didn't.

FAQ

Straight answers, before you ask.

Do you handle rebates and incentives?

Yes — we prepare and file utility and California state incentive applications as part of the project scope, and design sites to meet program requirements from the start so eligibility isn't discovered too late.

Which EV charger brands do you install?

We're hardware-agnostic and install and service all major OCPP-compliant equipment. Equipment selection happens in design, based on your site's electrical capacity, network requirements, and operating model — not on a distribution agreement.

Do you subcontract the electrical work?

No. Installation is self-performed by our own EVITP-certified crews under our CSLB C-10 license. One contractor of record means one accountable party for schedule, quality, and warranty.

Can you service EV chargers you didn't install?

Yes. Our maintenance and servicing group takes over existing sites — including diagnosis, repair, and full station replacement for equipment that's been orphaned by its original installer or manufacturer.
